  • 2 ribeye steaks (about 1 pound each), cubed
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons avocado or olive oil
  • 2 small white onions, sliced
  • 16 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 6 cups beef stock
  • Fresh parsley and thyme for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, season cubed steak with salt, black pepper, and 2 tablespoons of flour. Toss to coat.
  2. Heat butter and oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Brown the steak cubes until browned on all sides (about 3 minutes).
  3. Remove steak and sauté onions and mushrooms in the same pot until golden brown (10-12 minutes).
  4. Stir in garlic for about 30 seconds, then mix in Italian seasoning.
  5. Sprinkle remaining flour while whisking, then add hot beef stock. Simmer uncovered for about 20-22 minutes.
  6. Return steak to pot and let rest for about five minutes.
