  • 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 4 leaves of lettuce
  • 1 small red onion, sliced
  • 4 burger buns

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground turkey with chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into four patties and make an indentation in the center of each.
  3. Chill patties in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  4. Cook on a preheated grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes per side or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. While cooking, mix all Southwest Sauce ingredients in a bowl.
  6. Toast burger buns until golden brown.
  7. Assemble burgers by spreading the sauce on the bottom bun and adding the turkey patty followed by toppings.
