  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 onion (finely diced)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Form into 6–8 oval-shaped patties.
  2. In an oven-safe skillet, brown each patty on both sides for 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add butter and sauté sliced onions until softened. Stir in flour and cook for another two minutes before whisking in broth and cream until thickened.
  4. Nestle browned patties back into the skillet with gravy. Cover and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  5. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
