  • 500 g ground beef (minced)
  • 1 large white onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 300 ml beef stock (or beef bouillon)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add minced beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Transfer to a bowl.
  3. Sauté chopped onions in the same skillet until soft; add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Sprinkle flour into the skillet, stirring well before gradually adding beef stock. Allow to simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Return browned beef to the skillet along with tomato paste; simmer for about 45 minutes.
  6. Transfer filling into a pie dish and cover with rolled-out puff pastry, sealing edges with a fork.
  7. Pierce pastry for steam escape and bake for approximately 30 minutes until golden brown.
