Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 5 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup dried Italian-style bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated cheese
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small yellow onion (finely chopped)
  • 5 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 cups high-quality marinara sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the egg, parsley, oregano, salt, black pepper, minced garlic, water, tomato paste, ground beef, bread crumbs, and cheese. Mix everything gently but thoroughly—it’s important not to overwork the meat mixture so the meatballs remain tender. Shape into generous balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake those meatballs in your preheated oven for about 20 minutes until they are golden brown.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and add chopped onions. Sauté until they soften and turn translucent—this should take about 5 minutes! Then add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. Stir in your marinara sauce along with sugar—this balances out acidity—and let it simmer for a few minutes. Pour in heavy cream gradually while stirring.
  5. In another pot of boiling salted water, cook your spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Remember to break it in half for easier cooking! Drain well.
  6. Once everything is ready—your crispy meatballs and creamy sauce—combine them with spaghetti in your skillet. Toss gently until all pasta is coated in that mouthwatering sauce.
