  • ¾ cup milk (preferably whole or 2%)
  • ½ cup half and half
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 ½ teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 9 cups cubed day-old French bread
  • Topping: â…” cup light brown sugar
  • â…” cup all-purpose flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 6 tablespoons softened butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, half and half, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Fold in cubed bread until coated; let sit for 15 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, mix topping ingredients until crumbly.
  5. Pour soaked bread mixture into the baking dish and sprinkle topping on top.
  6. Bake for about 45 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving with maple syrup.
