  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons real maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 12 cups day-old croissants, torn
  • 1 jar fruit preserves (10 ounce)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, cubed
  • 6 tablespoons cold salted butter, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup fresh berries for serving
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cold butter.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Add torn croissants and toss until coated.
  3. Layer half of the croissant mixture in the greased dish. Spoon fruit preserves and cream cheese cubes over the top, then layer remaining croissant mixture.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  5. Before baking, place thin slices of cold butter on top of the dish. Bake for 45-50 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
